Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a sip and see for a dear friend. If you haven’t heard of this theme party, its probably because you aren’t from the South. It’s a popular party here where we celebrate the birth of a new baby. It says it in the title, you sip your drink and gush over the sweet little bundle of joy.
For this party I knew I wanted the theme to be a natural color palate. I thought the style best reflects the mother; very classic and effortless. I added touches of navy since we were celebrating a baby boy, and at the last minute added pumpkins to give the event a fall feel. If you’re throwing this party in the spring use lemons as a great alternative.
A touch of nature
Adding touches of the babies name is a wonderful way to customize the party. It also makes the guest of honor feel special. You can always monogram napkins, cups, or spell out names out with balloons. However, for this celebration I wanted something different.
I reached out to Modern Birch Company because I thought this shop would be the perfect fit for this event. I think their wood script pieces are a real show stopper and I’ve been eyeing them for some time.
Modern Birch Company provided the natural wood cake topper, large (size: 23.5″) name script sign, and the gold painted Oh Baby Script.
These items crafted by Modern Birch Company are absolutely stunning and so well made! I was really blown away by them online and in person!
I also liked the provided option of selecting the finish coloring. Although they have so many pretty choices, I decided on the natural wood finish for the name script sign. I thought it matched the party best and also went well with his nursery decor.
I say this because at the end of the event I gifted the wood name sign to the guest of honor. She was so excited to go home with something so beautiful and personal. It was the perfect way to send her off and make her feel extra special.
It’s not a party without a balloon
For this event I used Glamfetti for a few other party details. She provided the white and clear balloon garland that’s pictured above the drink table. Tiffany, Glamfetti, also also cut out the white baby onsies! I strung the garland on twine and it was the perfect way to welcome guests at the front entry table. I think the onsie garland brought a subtle touch of elegance to this area.
Food
This party took place during brunch. I provided breakfast tacos, muffins, fruit salad, mimosas and this beautiful white cake from HEB.
Can y’all believe this cake only cost me $21.00! If you’re local, HEB bakery makes the most amazing cakes! Most importantly they won’t break your budget, but they’re also so tasty! I purchased this cake plain white and decorated it using flowers from the HEB floral department. I gently placed blackberries and blueberries alongside the flowers.
Decor Details
I hope you enjoyed taking a look into my sip and see and leave this post feeling inspired. I think this elegant theme is so flexible and can be used for a baby shower, gender reveal, or even a wedding shower. Don’t forget to pin any of these images to Pinterest if you want to save these ideas for the future. š
