If you haven’t visited the historic Houston Heights yet; you need to make your way here asap. We call it home, and love living here! This area offers so many different one-of-a kind attractions for families in Houston.
One of our local favorite spots is Birds Barbershop. The kids and my husband, Blake, get their haircuts here so its one of our frequent spots. This barbershop is colorful, retro, and has a hint of edge to it. We love visiting here not only the esthetics, but also the staff is so kind!
However, if you were talking to Scarlett, she would tell you she loves “her haircut place” because of the (free) vintage video games inside, and that we get popsicles afterwards from the shop next door.
Hey There Neighbor
Speaking of, if you have yet to visit Steel City Pops; its a hands down must! (This shop isn’t giving out free popsicles, but it’s still is a fun treat after balloon pictures next door!)
Steel City Pops offers a rotating seasonal menu full of handcrafted popsicles. These pops are absolutely delicious and the perfect treat for anyone! I will link there menu here if you want to check it out. While researching their website, I noticed there lots of locations here in Houston, as well in other states! Make sure you head to their website if you’re not a Texas local!
Girl on the Go
Steel City Pops also offers popsicles that you can order to go. The pops comes in an insulted bag or box (depending on your order size), so no need to worry about them melting before your destination. On the website you might notice event catering is also available! Perfect idea for a summer wedding or party!
Come Visit
If you don’t live in the area, drive into town and make a day out of it! There are SO MANY things to do here in Houston, so make sure you stop here for a treat at the end of the day.
Side note: I’m thinking of writing a blog post covering top places in Houston to visit. Please comment on this post if that is of interest to you! I would love to hear from you!
Just call me the crazy balloon lady!
