Scarlett had her first day of school today. She’s attending a new Mother’s Day Out program that’s closer to home. To be honest, I really wasn’t sure how it was going to go. The school is brand new so there is not reputation to trust and put me at ease. Great news, SHE LOVED IT! I knew deep down she would, because she LOVED school last year. I guess as a mom you will always worry about your little one.
Her teachers reported that she cried at nap time. Her reason was because she “missed me.” I’m sure she really did… BUT she probably wasn’t feeling the whole nap thing. She has been trying to drop naps lately (I’m not of fan of that at all) and once 4/5 o’clock rolls around… she is a terror! Lord help me! LOL (Scarlett will be 3 this December)
Anyway, things seemed to go well. She did complain her class doesn’t have enough cars. (insert heavy eye roll lol) If you know Scarlett, you know her LOVE for cars, trucks, trains… anything that moves.
Other than school going great. There was a slight hiccup this morning at home. Scarlett was determined to wear her FAVORITE “ballerina” dress. This crushed me because I had this whole idea of her going to school in my favorite newly purchased outfit. I don’t know why I care so much – but I do! LOL She’s only two and I would like to still be in charge. I tried every trick in the book and she wouldn’t back down. So guess what… I caved. She wore the stupid dress that she wears basically everyday. However, I made her a deal. She got to wear the dress of her dreams if she took my classic first day of school picture in my outfit choice. This TOTALLY WORKED – until I went to put on her shoes. Scarlett was dead set wearing her water shoes she has LIVED in all summer long. Ughh! I bought bright and shiny WHITE new converse and NOPE…there was no way they were going on her feet. Hence Scarlett being barefoot in my pictures below! LOL Oh well, it makes for a good story in years to come. I hope everyone is having a great first day of school!
