Many of you requested for a hair curling tutorial which can be found in my beauty highlight bubble on instagram. However, I can walk you through the process that I use every time I curl my hair.
- create the first layer of hair at the base of your neck: use my favorite dry bar clips to help hold your hair well
- take your curling iron (size 1.25) and curl hair away from your face starting at the root
- I hold the curling iron at my root for a few seconds then slightly release the clamp to add more hair to my curl around the iron.
- leave about an inch of your hair out of the bottom to give you a good beachy curl
- work your way around your head – always taking the curl away from your face
- after you complete the first layer- bring some more hair down and repeat the process * NOTE* I have about 4 layers of curling because my hair is so thick. Depending on how much hair you have determines how many layers you will need
- Do not brush through your curls until the end. let the curls cool before you comb through them.
- once finished: I use my fingers to comb through my curls. I don’t use a brush because I feel like this gives the curls a different texture to them. Sometimes I separate my curls if I think its too thick of a curl
- after I finish “combing” my hair I spray my hair with hair spray and then use a texture spray
- to spray the texture spray: while holding the end of your hair – drop the hair while spraying upwards *NOTE* I like the Ouai and Kevin Murphy spray that I linked. Both work great but you only need one
- last I take sumo hair wax and put a small amount in my palm. *a little goes a long way* With my hands flat pressed together in a high five or prayer position: I rub the wax over the ends of my hair in a washing motion between my palms.
- THE END!
- To make sure your curl will last days and minimize bed head; I use this silk pillow case I linked below- I swear by it!
