I just wanted to pop in and discuss my favorite kid products for summer! There are SO MANY cute things out right now, but I found these below to be the most practical with a lasting quality!
Kid/Adult Size Pool
We don’t have a pool in our back yard, and with the 100 degree Texas heat we have to find a few ways to cool down! This year I decided I would purchase a blow up pool that both kids and adults could use. BEST. DECISION. EVER! I’m questioning why I didn’t buy one sooner! I’m really so impressed with this specific pool – Blake and I both fit comfortably while Scarlett plays.
Baby Pool
I decided I would also buy a separate pool for Luke because he needs just a small amount of water to play.
Luke’s baby pool has a top that can velcro on and off – a great feature! It also squeaks when squeezed.. an effect Luke LOVESSS to explore. LOL
I love that it’s large enough for a few babies to play in, but not too big where it takes up space. I think this baby pool might be my top pick for our summer purchases!
We recently went to the beach for the 4th of July. At the last-minute I decided to bring Luke’s pool, which turned out the be the best idea! We placed it under the umbrella and filled it with a few buckets of sea water. Jack and Luke enjoyed splashing and playing together-it was so cute!
Water Table
Our water table has been a hit since day one. We bought this step 2 table last summer and it has held up so well for staying outdoors. I highly recommend this water table if you are searching for one! The top rack has a waterfall feature, and it comes with multiple toys for exploring. Over time we have lost a few attachments/toys but the table itself has been great!
Bubble Machine
Bubble machines are sooo handy! I’ve owned a few over the years, but so far this one has been my favorite brand – and Scarlett seems to love it too! 🙂
Water Beads
Water beads have been a life saver for us this summer! They are the perfect ingredient for a quick and easy sensory table! If you’ve never heard of water beads – here’s the low down… The package will come with tiny, tiny beads about the size of a grain of rice. You place the beads in water and let them expand over a course of a few hours or overnight. I usually throw the beads in our water table and let them expand in there. If you don’t have a water table, try to find a big bowl to let them expand in. Remember not to use too many beads or you will have endless amounts once they are large! I know from experience. LOL. The texture of the beads are slippery; making it really fun to explore for little ones! When you’re done you simply throw them away. (They will dry up if you leave them in the sun)
Extended Play
If you have a cooking ladle, plastic cups, tongs, etc.- grab those for your little one! These are great tools for children to practice their fine motor skills through play. I bought these purple scoop tongs you see below off of amazon. They are the perfect size for her little hands.
SAFETY
Please know that I consider these beads a choking hazard! If you have a little one is still putting items in their mouth-WAIT until they are old enough to explore water beads. 🙂
